Pharmacognosy is branch of science which dealing with the study of crude drugs and their therapeutic effect obtained from natural sources such as plants, animals & minerals.
Well designed laboratory with equipment designed with respect to improving the basic concepts like microscopical, morphological and macroscopical charectristics of plants of various species and families.
Also given in detail of method of cultivation and collection of the plant and identification of phytoconstituent by of TLC.
The pharmacognosy lab is displayed with around 50 different Crude drugs.
This Laboratory provides various instruments like simple and projecting microscope for isolation of various active constituents.

Keeping pace with the changing times in the field of medicinal plants, the Department maintains a Herbal Garden with several species of Medicinal Plants.
The students get a first-hand experience regarding Identification of Medicinal Plants & herbs, with Cultivation & Collection techniques.
The department also maintains a properly landscaped Medicinal Plant Garden admeasuring around 500 sqm and having around more than 50 medicinal plant species of different families
